Amalgamated Transit Union Local No.757, Transit Workers’ Union says …
“The Amalgamated Transit Union Local No. 757 is proud to endorse and support Tim Leavitt for Mayor of Vancouver.
Tim has not only been a friend to Labor but has shown that he will fight for the little guy: you and me. Not only does Tim have the knowledge and experience to be a terrific Mayor for our great city, he also brings along with him the energy of youth to do the job. Tim Leavitt really does have what it take to be an outstanding Mayor for Vancouver.
Tim has impressed us with his ability to work with Labor on labor issues and also work with the other side of the aisle to find the common ground. Tim will be the Mayor that Vancouver needs, a Mayor who has the insight to not only fix today’s problems but to look ahead and avoid making decisions that will be the problems of tomorrow!
So it is with great pleasure that the membership of Amalgamated Transit Union Local No. 757 has endorsed and supports Tim Leavitt for Mayor of Vancouver.

Marc Boldt, Clark County Commissioner says …
“We have a real opportunity NOW for positive change here in Vancouver. Supporting Tim’s campaign is a decision I take very seriously, and I hope you will too. If our community is going to prosper in these tough times, the City and the County have to work TOGETHER. Tim understands this. I have personally witnessed Tim’s problem-solving efforts working WITH the County and FOR Vancouver. Now, more than ever, the leadership that Tim demonstrates is a MUST. Tim is the right person at the right time for Vancouver.”
Steve Stuart, Clark County Commissioner says …
“Tim is an intelligent, thoughtful listener who truly evaluates different perspectives before coming to decisions–and that’s what we need in our leaders right now. Tim’s thoughtful, collaborative style will bring out the best in every Council member and City partner, giving them more input and opportunity to help create a richer discussion and outcomes. He did that as Chair of the C-Tran Board of Directors, and he’ll do it as Mayor.
Tim will bring new energy and a wealth of experience to revitalizing and enhancing business opportunities throughout the city, not just the Downtown core, and he is dedicated to quality of life and the environment–he practices what he preaches.
Tim will bring new ideas, energy, and an approachable style, in a tough time when we need to seriously evaluate how we got here and how to move forward as a community.”
Ray Garza, Community Activist says …
“I support Tim because he’s a man that’s in touch with the common person and seems to understand the needs of the community.”
Bruce Fuerstenberg, Vancouver Granite says …
“Tim knows small business and what it takes to open the door every day. The current Mayor has never had to worry about what it takes to run a business.
Tolls will cost 30% of our business that comes from Portland. We need a change. Tim is the one.”
Lew Waters, “Clark County Conservative” Blogger says …
“Tim Leavitt brings new and fresh ideas to the table. He sees how Vancouver voters and their families are struggling and hurting in today’s economy. He sees continually raising taxes and fees and past bad decisions of the incumbent are prolonging recovery. Attracting businesses and jobs is the way to recover, not taking more of our paychecks. It’s time for a change and that change is electing Tim Leavitt.”
Jeramy Williams, WillTec Computer Forensics says …
“Though I live in unincorporated Vancouver and cannot vote in the mayoral election that will shape my business’s future, I am emphatically supporting Tim Leavitt because I believe he is the person whose views and goals will give me voice again and my business a fighting chance to succeed. Tim has a vision of a strong Vancouver that will not be swallowed up by Portland interests. I believe he has the right idea of how to get us there.”
Anna Miller, Camas says …
We are in rough financial waters. Our elected officials must be able to think out of the box for new solutions and innovative ideas. Although I do not live in the city limits, what Vancouver does affects the surrounding areas. Tim Leavitt is intelligent, approachable and respectful. He has fresh ideas and a respect for the citizens. I am grateful to Mayor Pollard for his many years of service, but feel, now more than ever, it is time for a new direction. I urge you to vote for Tim Leavitt.
Max Williamson, Vancouver says …
Our daughter lives in the Lincoln neighborhood and my wife and I decided to join her for the forum held last night at the elementary school. We have been following the mayor race in the newspaper and watching the debates on cable tv. Last week, my wife demanded that I get onto the computer and look at your website and Pollard’s website.
I want to tell you Mr. Leavitt that we are extremely glad to have been at the forum last night. You should know that we did NOT vote in the primary election. According to Pollard, this means we are bad people. All three of us last night found it offensive that Pollard continued to badger your personal voting record. He must think we are all idiots! We all know that young people don’t vote as regularly as they should. Your response to Pollard’s first reference was humble and classy. Thank you. Why is he talking about this so much? It’s not important to us that you didn’t vote when you were younger. It is important to us that you have learned and matured and are voting now. And you responded that way. His efforts stink of desperation. Mr. Leavitt keep positive and you will win this election. After last night, you have earned our votes. We are pleased to be supporting you now.
Joe Jonart, Presidio Group International says …
“Tim has a proven track record for success, leadership and brings a fresh new look to Vancouver. He is a longtime Vancouver, Washington resident and we can feel proud to have him serve as mayor for our great city! He’s the next best thing to Burgerville!”
Elizabeth Madrigal, Ridgefield Community Activist says …
“Tim Leavitt has the best interests of Vancouver and Clark County at heart, something many erroneously consider mutually exclusive. He is a true community supporter, values green tech and innovation and will help ensure that our kids and grandkids get to enjoy a great quality of life. He cares about solving transportation problems, supporting parks, helping the vulnerable members of our society, and environmental issues and he understands the infrastructural needs of the city.”
Maria Rodriguez-Salazar, Vancouver Latina Leader says…
“I am so impressed with Tim. He is an approachable person. He listens to your concerns and sees you as a legitimate client (we the taxpayers, families, residents of Vancouver etc…). Which is not what we have had in our current mayor. I see great things happening for our city by electing Tim as our next Mayor of Vancouver.”
Ted Schatz, Fitness Professional says …
“As a Personal Trainer you get to see a lot of the qualities that people possess, and it is certain qualities that get results. Tim is passionate about health. Tim is dedicated to fitness. Tim is hard-working. Tim is committed. Tim has a vision as to what he wants and is willing to do the work it takes to get him there. These are just a few of the qualities I have seen in Tim in the time that I have known him. So what can be accomplished with qualities such as passion, dedication, hard work, commitment, and a vision? My answer is change. This is why I will vote for Tim Leavitt for mayor. Vancouver is due for positive change.”
AJ Gomez, President, Global Security & Communication, Inc. says …
“I am proud to say that I have gotten to know Tim. He is friendly and approachable. Most important, he understands that small- and medium-sized businesses are critically important to the city of Vancouver and our future.
Tim has already developed many positive relationships within the community and will use his energy to build and develop the positive aspects of greater Vancouver. Positive, progressive, interested, energetic.”
Don Wright, President, Don Wright Productions says …
“How many times have I heard, “Why can’t the city government be run like a successful business?” Well guess what — Tim has a proven record of running a successful business. He will take the same common sense knowledge he used to make his business the top environmental engineering firm in Southwest Washington and use the same techniques to run the city of Vancouver. It’s not brain surgery — it’s just common sense.”
Joey Fuerstenberg, Vancouver Vancouver Granite Works says …
“Tim understands that you can disagree without being disagreeable. He will bring back civility and a positive public discourse to city hall.
Tim also understands that there are more businesses in Vancouver than the big multinational corporations. Small businesses are the backbone of our economy and create the bulk of the jobs in our city.
Tim believes that any tolls for the new Columbia River Crossing should be a last resort and not the first option. He understands the impact that it would have on commuters and businesses that use the bridge everyday.
The time is now to elect a positive voice for the citizens of Vancouver. The time is now to elect Tim Leavitt for Mayor!”
Lisa Olson, community member says …
Tim should be our next mayor! I have personally known Tim for several years, he has always impressed me with his poise, candor, his listening skills and his ability to get along with others! He is all about keeping Vancouver alive and striving to make it the best city it can be! Tim has my vote!
Bart Phillips, Vancouver PBS Engineering + Environmental/CFO says …
“Tim understands financial management, trust, ethics, and the success that commitment to a team effort brings to an organization. He has learned how helping others benefits all.”
Adrian Cortes, Small Business Owner/Candidate for Battle Ground City Council says …
“New Leadership, New Energy, New Ideas, Humble Approach. These are words that resonate with me. These are words that I believe Tim Leavitt will bring the City of Vancouver and its citizens. I look forward to November 3rd and standing with Tim as we look to provide leadership to our respective communities. As I always say: You don’t drive a car by staring in the rearview mirror. You drive it by having a clear vision of the road ahead.”
Martha Sherin, Lead/Trainer, Alaska Airlines says …
“Watching Tim stand side-by-side our current Mayor at the ribbon cutting ceremony for the new Humane Society of Southwest Washington it was hard not to compare old with new. Tim has new ideas, an up-to-date image and is approachable. The city of Vancouver needs Tim!”
Joy Winning, Vancouver TGN Coaching says …
“It’s great to see a local take such an interest, especially one concerned with including the citizens.
I’ve lived here for 9 years and seen a lot of support for businesses (millions spent on the bridge to nowhere-across I14 and the walk over Padden Parkway), but not a lot of services for the citizens.
It will be interesting to see more of Tim’s platform and how he would like the city to develop under his guiding hand.”
Kelly Carr, Vancouver MzKelly Events & Productions says …
“For the first time in over 18 years, when my family first moved to Vancouver, I am excited to live here! Meeting Tim Leavitt and hearing the passion and genuine love for this city and the people who live here, I have now fallen in love with Vancouver myself. I’m a “big city” gal from Hollywood, CA. But now after hearing about all that Tim is wanting for this city and ALL the people who live here, I’m excited to not only support his work, all that is to come, but also get involved again myself. I see now all the possibilities and opportunities there are here. Thank you Tim for bring the heart back to Vancouver!”
Sherri Weiser, Vancouver Owner of Studio 7 Boutik says …
“Tim has fresh ideals for the City of Vancouver, as an owner of a High End Business I believe we need change. I graduated from River in 79 so I have lived and worked in this community for many years.
It concerns me that we seem to drive a lot of high end business to the Portland area, while lower end business keep getting built. Vancouver has become home to many business professionals, retired athletes and people who spend large amounts of money at higher end stores which means “Portland”! I believe Tim living, working and shopping here realizes that it is time to grow Vancouver into a self sufficient city where we can eat, shop and socialize without going into Portland. He believes in keeping our money and resources here.
Tim is involved in the community and really has a genuine love for this city.
If Vancouver keeps doing the same thing with regard to leadership the results will be the same and Vancouver is ready NOW for a change, and that is Tim!”
Craig M., Vancouver, WA says …
“Vancouver needs a Mayor who will lead with vision and a passion for responsible growth and job creation.
We need to embrace our arts, as well as our industries, our small businesses as well as our corporations, and do so by integrating both those who have been here for a very long time, with those who have just recently discovered the true beauty of our city.
Tim Leavitt is by far the only man on the political map who has both the vision, ability and passion to start this uphill battle and then finish what he starts.
No offense to the outgoing Mayor, but he has had twenty years – twenty – to show he has vision. We need growth and mobility, and he is simply not capable or seemingly interested in providing it.
Tim Leavitt is and will be that man. I urge you to support him and bid farewell to the days of old. Let’s together move forward as a community behind a singular voice, a defined leader.
I ask you to vote for Tim Leavitt for Mayor of Vancouver.”
Lois & Caleb Cook, America’s Phone Guys say …
“Adding tolls to our bridges is just one more assault on the small business owners in any service industry. It’s unacceptable no matter what our ‘Governor’ says. It’s time for a new breath of fresh air!”
Aaron Woldrich, Portland Medical Device Sales says …
“I am a former Vancouver resident with family residing in Vancouver proper. My father served for 22 years on its police force. I have seen the city change so much through the years, some for the better but unfortunately more for the worse. Vancouver and its residents deserve better. I get tired of hearing the “Vantucky” jokes. Current leadership just isn’t getting it done. What Vancouver needs is a fresh voice and a person who can effectively execute a plan of action for the city. I have known Tim for over 25 years. He works diligently to attain his goals and he will do the same for the city because he cares deeply for Vancouver and her citizens. He was made for this.”
Debbie Hansen, Vancouver says …
“I have been waiting for many years to see a competent, intelligent candidate run for mayor of Vancouver.
Tim Leavitt is just the sort of change that Vancouver has been in need of for a very long time.
As a rider of C-Tran, it will be great to have a mayor that realizes and appreciates that public transportaion is an asset to the community.”
Donna Roberge, Retired Professor from Clark College says …
“I serve with Tim on the Clark College Alumni Association Board. Also, Tim was a student of mine at Clark.”
